Curriculum P.E.

Every class from Year One to Year Six has two lessons of PE every week. In each year children experience these main curriculum areas, gymnastics, dance, invasion games, striking and fielding games and athletics. The Year Six children take part in swimming during Friday afternoon sessions at Bamber Bridge Leisure Centre over the course of the year.  Last year (2016-17) 95% of our pupils could swim 25m on their front and back.

Tower Wood Residential Visit

During the May Day bank holiday weekend, our Year Five and Six children are offered the opportunity to visit the Lancashire Outdoor Education centre, Tower Wood, in the Lake District to experience a variety of outdoor and adventurous activities such as abseiling and canoeing.

Extra-Curricular Activities

A range of extra-curricular activities that are organised by the staff and sports coaches take place after school. These include; football, high 5 (netball), running, hockey, rounders, athletics, cross-country, multi-skills, handball, dodgeball and gymnastics. These take place during different terms of the year and all staff who run clubs give their time up freely to run them. All we ask is that children take part in their club. All children are encouraged to take part in at least 1 active club during each academic year.
